About NAAS

AOTS was established in Japan in 1959 with the support of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and its main objective is to promote technical cooperation between Japan and the developing countries for the industrialization and evelopment of developing countries and enhancing mutual and friendly relationships between those countries and Japan. For this purpose, AOTS has been supporting various educational and training activities of alumni association like NAAS. To date, AOTS has trained approximately 79,000 persons in Japan from 150 countries and regions. The activities of AOTS are financed by Japanese government subsidy, company contributions, and other sources.

Background

Nepal AOTS Alumni Society (NAAS) believes that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) could be one of the driving engines for the economic development of Nepal, after the agriculture and the tourism. Besides, ICT should largely be used for augmenting the efficiency and effectiveness in the government functioning in Nepal.

In order to prepare for the background to develop the IT Industry especially to promote the business with Japan, NAAS is organizing this Nepal Japan IT Business Promotion Convention and the Exhibition, on July 26 and 27, 2007. This IT Convention intends to show the path for the IT businessmen who are interested with Japan business. This Convention will be a forum to interact on what Nepal can give and what Nepal should do immediately to start IT business with Japan, at the same time, to introduce what Japan needs today and tomorrow. The realistic scenario will be presented discussing on the facts and figures with our feet on the ground. Thus, this Convention will be held to explore the possibilities between Nepal and Japan's IT business. Besides, the exhibition will be a platform for exchanging the information by seeing the products.

NAAS will invite and encourage the interested IT companies, individuals, students and educational institutions, to participate in the Convention and Exhibition.
